Wether it’s been the best of years and other the worst, wether it’s to celebrate the new year or the old, we can all agree that it’s worthy of a party. We look at the eclectic entertainment on offer in Inverness for New Year’s Eve 2018/19.

Moving away from the contemporary feel that saw Spring Break headline the festivities last year, it is Guilty Pleasures that are charged with entertaining party goers for Hogmanay 2018/19/.  Guilty Pleasures describe themselves as the “Scotland’s most fun wedding and function band” and are more than ably fronted by Michelle Newell.

Ticket details can be found on the event page.

TWEED at the Raigmore Motel

Tweed at Jocktoberfest

Last year some of the Inverness Gigs team found themselves at The Raigmore for New Year, it was everything that you wanted from a Hogmanay party. Tweed, having played throughout the UK and Europe, their hearts are very certainly with traditional ceilidh music but a splattering of funk, ska and toe-tapping beats and anything in between are promised. A family friendly indoor ceilidh in a venue renowned for it’s hospitality, certainly gets the thumbs up from us.

Rhythmnreel’s Hogmanay Bash

It’s perhaps unsurprising that Ironworks snapped up Rhythmnreel to play at Hogmanay for the fourth year in a row after the success of previous year’s celebrations.

Led by Andy Murray, the band know how to lead a party, drawing from Celtic rock to traditional ceilidh tunes, via a Paolo Nutini or Rod Stewart cover or two or three…

This year support will come from Davy & Sam Cowan.

The most popular event in town , some may say the “hottest ticket”.  The Northern Meeting Park hosts a busy night of music, dancing and celebrations. Charged with warming up proceedings this year are Tidelines , Blazin’ Fiddles and The Trad Project.

The party starts at Northern Meeting Park at 830pm, wrap up warmer, infact warmer than that. Full details of the acts can be found here.
