Man Made to play Mad Hatters in April.
Man Made are Nile Marr on vocals and guitar with Callum Rogers on drums and Scott Strange bass. After triumphant appearances at Loopallu and supporting Johnny Marr in Inverness last autumn, Manchester’s finest Man Made return for an intimate show at Mad Hatters.
It was the Johnny Marr gig that our reviewer commented:
“Dressed in a spangly jacket to go along with his jangly guitar, Marr junior’s Man Made seem to be following in the path of bands like Speedy Ortiz in raiding that early nineties indie feel. They do so without feeling at all contrived and reminded me of bands like the Long Pigs and Throwing Muses in the days before Britpop rendered the whole thing into a stale commercialised wasteland.”
Man Made have quickly built up an impressive history and have already found themselves sharing stages with the likes of Broken Social Scene, Bright Eyes, The Lemonheads and Badly Drawn Boy, as well as performing at Latitude festival.
Owning an innate mastery of their instruments, the trio have an astonishing musical palate with a natural knack for melody, never more evident than on the single ‘TV Broke My Brain’, an instantly likeable slice of indie-rock that shows the band pushing into exciting new frontiers.
The band’s time spent in the Pacific North West, as well as their native Manchester, has also seen their influences widen to include American guitar bands from the Portland, Seattle, and Olympia scenes, as well as the rainy atmosphere of their hometown.
Beyond Presents bring Man Made to Mad Hatters, Inverness on Sunday 24th April. Tickets are on sale now from www.beyondpresents.co.uk.
