A trio of traditional influenced acts play Ironworks in September as part of the BLAS Festival.
Shooglenifty, falling under the self identified genre of “hypno-folkadelic ambient trad “, were formed in Edinburgh twenty five years ago. Their new album , ‘The Untied Knot’, comes out in the summer which will also see them play festivals from Stornoway to Borneo.
When describing their music, Hò-ro say that “Although the foundations of our music are to our national roots, we bring many styles and genres of music into our band: traditional Gaelic songs, our own material, Scottish tunes and we may even surprise you with a few tracks that you may recognize!”.
Craig McGee finished his five star review of Niteworks with the line “I could have saved myself some writing time by just saying ‘F**k me! That was good…!’”.With feedback like that Skye’s Niteworks are steadily building on their reputation as one of Scotland’s premier live acts with their fusion of electronica, pipes, whistles and Gaelic vocals delighting crowds wherever they play.
Tickets , for the event on September the 5th 2015, will be on sale via the Ironwork website, with more news on BLAS appearing on the event’s official website.
