Main Street Blues will be appearing at the Eden Court Theatre, Inverness in September.

Famously being described by Ian Rankin as “So tight you couldn’t slide a Rizla between them”, with the author being so inspired by the band, he noted that he had found inspiration for a Rebus short story during the gig.
The four-piece blues band, led by Derek Smith, draw influences from the wide spectrum of the Blues scene including legends BB King and Freddie King to the more contemporary Warren Haynes and Robert Ward.
Spring saw the band featured on STV’s Riverside Show (see below), whilst more recently they have released 9 track (or 13 if you include the bonus tunes) ‘Fading to blue’ and they have completed a series of successful gigs at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Of a 2014 Fringe appearance, Mike ‘Dr Blue’ McKeon raved “I was left craving and shouting for more with a crowd who were happy having shared this great show. I wish I had recorded it. But perhaps not, these are the nights we will remember, we share and enjoy, knowing we are having a unique experience”.
