Andy Gunn Blues guitarist, singer and songwriter.

Quoting early influences such as Lightnin’ Hopkins and Muddy Waters and drawing comparisons with Stevie Ray Vaughan, he has played alongside acts including The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and members of Gary Moore’s Midnight Blues Band.

Scotland on Sunday warns that Andy “[Supplies] some of the spikiest shards of funk blues since Hendrix”.

Andy released his fourth self produced album, ‘The Miracle of Healing‘ in late July which he described as containing some “some great bluesy, folk and rock tunes”.

The album features the likes of Fraser Mclean, Jo Hamilton, Susanna Wolfe, Miriam Campbell and members of Martin Stephenson and the Daintees.

Blues Matter Magazine conclude their review by stating “[the album] is a very original and soulful release hitting all the right notes hopefully will get the acclaim it deserves.”

You can check out Andy via his website and catch him at The Greenhouse, Dingwall at  2pm Saturday 29th November.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
