Josephine Sillars headlines Carnivale to promote her new single.

““ Playing such guitar-orientated music on the piano, she breathed new life into the songs, almost making them her own to the point that I couldn’t tell the difference between her own songs and the covers.”

Starting off the year with the release of her first video ‘Hurricanes’, it seems apt that November brings the launch of her debut single ‘Hello’.

Josephine’s music ranges from Sci-Fi referencing quirky pop to emotionally laden ballads. She has played various festivals including Belladrum, Jocktoberfest, the heavy metal festival formerly known as LesFest and this year traveled to Sweden to play SandvikFest 2014.

The summer also saw Josephine take the stage for a series of gigs at the Edinburgh Fringe and for the National Collective.

2014 has seen Josephine build up her reputation in Glasgow playing a whole host of venues in Central Scotland including Oran Mor, Nice’N’Sleazy’s, Broadcast and Stereo.

The Carnivale event is on the Saturday the 1st of November and will have support from Hannah Finlayson and Esperi.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
