American roots music sensations The Wiyos warm up November with a stop off in Inverness.

The band, named after New York’s notorious nineteenth century Irish street gang, the band are renowned for their high-energy oldtime blues/hillbilly/swing stylings. Indeed even Seasick Steve’s warns everyone who has not seen the band perform ‘live’: “You’re in for a surprise!”.
Bruce MacGregor (BBC Radio) describes them as “Wonderful, weird and at times scary – it’s well worth checking out!”. It is perhaps no surprise that Bob Dylan invited them to open for him on his 2009 Summer tour.
The Wiyos earned a four star review from The Guardian for 2012 concept album ‘Twist’ based ,very, loosely on The Wizard of Oz. However they recently returned to their original three piece format re-visiting those days when they first captured attention as one of the most exciting ‘live’ acts on the circuit.
The Wiyos come to the Eden Court on the 13th of November, tickets available online.
