Veterans of T In The Park, SXSW, Rockness, Wickerman, Belladrum, In The City, The Great Escape and Liverpool Soundcity, The Draymin have been announced as winners of the first RockNess Sound City Stage Band Competition.
“The core value at Sound City is all about breaking emerging talent in the UK” and with The Draymin they certainly have a well established and experienced band, who have not quite broken through. In comparison to some of the other bands it is clear that there is a contrast in opportunities and experience.
We have to say that it is a massive shame that none of the local bands wan the prize, although we suspect that the number of local bands may have (and in contradiction to previous posts) meant that there was an issue with votes being split.
On the plus side at east we have the first announcement for Rockness 2012…
