Anthony Gomes is a Canadian blues-rock guitarist who fuses Delta-soul grit with modern rock riffs, delivering “fret-burning fireworks” on every stage. Since his 1998 debut, he has released 15 studio albums and dominated the Billboard Blues Chart, including a 58-week run at No. 1 for High Voltage Blues. He’s been named among Guitar World’s “30 Best Blues Guitarists” and Total Guitar’s Top 100, and he founded the Music Is the Medicine Foundation to bring music therapy programs to underserved communities.
It was an absolute belter of a night at Upstairs Inverness when Anthony Gomes and his band took to the stage. It had been rare to witness something so special here, and every soaring solo and thunderous riff felt like its own celebration.
