What would be your FFO list?
King of Leon, Sam Fender, The Strokes, Deaf Havana
Tell us a little about how the band came to be and a story so far.
We’re just two guys who met in the music room at school, been friends ever since but only started the band in 2020. We wanted to play a few The 1975 songs together for fun. Sam had some ideas for a few original songs and we went from there. Two years later we decided to scrap what we had and The Worry People as you know us was born. We spent the first year writing and recording as much as we could and took a trip to the Peak District to film the first music videos. After catching the bug for the creation process, we worked on 3 more EPs and don’t plan on slowing down.

As an act, how has 2024 treated you so far?
This year we have completed our first UK tour and have played with some brilliant bands in some fantastic venues. The rest of the year looks really exciting for us, but we can’t talk about it just yet so make sure you give us a follow to keep up!
You have three original songs to wow the Belladrum audience, which ones would they be and why?
Wait For You, Naked, ATWB
Festivals are renowned for horrible clashes, which act on the Belladrum line-up would you least like to clash with and why?
We’re not fighters, we’re lovers. If a great band happens to be playing at the same time as us, so be it… The Exhales (read an interview with The Exhales here)
It’s your first time at Bella, what Is the draw to playing Belladrum?
We’re new to the Belladrum scene which is a draw in its own right, but we’d have to say just the ability to connect to a new audience and to play a great festival.
Given the Love theme, if you had to create a love playlist with only five songs, what would be on it?
The Cardigans- love fool
The Worry People – Wait For You
Mazzy Star – Fade Into You
Fleetwood Mac – Say You Love Me
Sixpence None The Richer – Kiss Me
If you could travel back in time which Belladrum would you like to revisit?
2012 would have been a good year! Travis and The Wombats would have been great to see.
In your act’s repertoire, what is the most romantic song you have?
We always introduce Wait For You as a love song so we’ve have to say that one.
What’s on the horizon for you after Belladrum?
After a summer of more festivals we have more music and more shows. Let’s just say that this won’t be the last time we play outside of Kent this year.
The Worry People perform at Seedling Stage at 455pm on Thursday and you can keep track of the band here.
