Colin Clyne’s Americana and Folk-inspired style, coupled with captivating storytelling, has won him fans and prestigious awards worldwide. With performances at top music festivals and support slots for renowned artists, Colin’s musical journey continues to mesmerize audiences in the UK and beyond.

You have ten words to describe your act, no more no less…

Wee drop of Americana, Alt-Folk spiced with Country / Blues influences.

As an act how has 2023 treated you so far?

Pretty busy with gigs and recordings, although the first half of the year was spent focusing on The Broken Creels debut single (Friend or Foe)!

You have three original songs to wow the Belladrum audience, which ones would they be and why?

Where The Ships Go to Die, I’m playing the Free-Range Stage under a broken boat, therefore that seems serendipitous.Toast the Happy Times, because we all need some fun, celebrations, and a beer at Bella and finally my upcoming single Escape Route because that’s what next!

Festivals are renowned for horrible clashes, which act on the Belladrum line-up would you least like to clash with and why?

Punk Rock Factory, I’m taking my kids there to blow their little Disney Princess minds!!

What are your tips for coping with festival season?

Suncream, beer and a hat!

What are your favourite memories of Belladrum? If it’s your first time What Is the draw to playing Belladrum?

I first played Belladrum in 2008, this will be my 6th year as a performer. However, last year was the first time I did the full-on camping thing, complete with my family. We had such a wonderful time that we are back for some more!

Given the cartoon and comic theme of Belladrum 2023, which theme tune or song from animation would you cover given the opportunity, and how would you make it your own?

The theme tune from He-man. Myself on vocal, acoustic guitar and moothie and I’ll get Skeletor on the drums and Ram-Man on the upright bass!!

Which cartoon or animation would you have appear on stage with you and why?

Probably Ladybug and Cat Noir, my kids love that show!!

What’s on the horizon for you after Belladrum?

Releasing my new single Escape Route and finishing off my upcoming album / EP. I have some gigs with The Broken Creels and my one and only solo hometown show at The Blue Lamp in Aberdeen in November.

Colin Clyne plays on the Free Range Acoustic Stage at 3:45pm on Saturday 29th of July at Belladrum. Keep up to date with Colin via his website
