Emerging artist Oscar Blue has captured the attention of music lovers worldwide with his unique blend of Irish folk and contemporary indie/rock sound. Born and raised in Co. Clare, Ireland, Oscar’s musical influences are rooted in the passion and integrity of Irish folk icons like Damien Dempsey and the contemporary indie/rock sound of bands like Snow Patrol.

“I’ve always been fascinated with how music can transport you to another place, another feeling, and I think that’s what I try to do with my music.”

Oscar Blue’s music is characterised by his passionate storytelling and instinctively honest and uninhibited style. His music has the power to transport his listeners to another place or feeling, evoking a sense of belonging, attachment, and nostalgia. Oscar’s debut string of singles, recorded on a shoestring budget in a small home recording studio, have remarkably been streamed over 6 million times globally.

Despite his success with his debut singles, Oscar’s sound has evolved to incorporate soaring guitar riffs, meandering soundscapes, and spell-binding bass and percussive elements. These point to more contemporary indie, rock, and pop influences that he has incorporated into his music. This sound is best demonstrated on his debut “Backyard Mafia EP,” which was released in October of last year. His success has seen him support bands such as Hudson Taylor, The Academic, Kodaline and KAWALA, as well as sold-out headline gigs in Dublin and London.

“Oscar Blue is a natural storyteller, and his songs have an authenticity and depth that belies his young age. He is definitely an artist to watch in the coming years.”

In 2023, Oscar Blue embarks on a UK and Irish tour, bringing him to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ullapool and the Tooth & Claw Inverness on the 20th of July, 2023.

Tickets for Oscar Blue are on sale from 10am Wednesday, hErE.
