You have ten words to describe your act, no more no less…

Toby Michaels is being his usually noisy, energetic, acoustic self!

As an act how how does it feel to be back post-COVID?

Being back performing is vitally important to me, especially given I lost my voice 5 months before the pandemic even hit!

Given the myths and legends theme of Belladrum 2022, can you tell us a myth or legend of the band?

I once defeated Soft Jazz and saved the world.

Which legend (non-musical!) would you have appear on stage with you and what song would you play with them?

John McGinn, the Scotland International. On anything. Not sure he is musical…but he seems a laugh.

There have been a few musical legends play Belladrum over the years which performance would you most like the opportunity to see again?

The Darkness. Justin is another level of performer that not many people can achieve. Pure Talent and Charisma.

How are you preparing for your Belladrum performance, what are your plans after you have played?

I have been preparing with my band GTF, getting some reps in so I can bring some of that energy into my acoustic set.

If your set only consisted of three songs and one extra cover, which ones would they be and why?

A Little Bit of What You Fancy(Does You Good) – TMRD, Darkness and The Road by GTF and as a cover… something to confuse you all like some Bette Midler.

And a wee bit of festival madness…

Who’d win a fight between Nessie and Godzilla?

Nessie would win, I know from personal conversation with her that the late, great Rowdy Roddy Piper trained her. She knows how to fight dirty.

What would you rather fight, a unicorn the size of Nessie or 20 unicorn sized Nessies?

Trick question, Unicorns and Nessies are our friends and would never resort to violence against human kind.

What is your favourite urban legend?

I don’t think he lives on a farm…so John Legend maybe

You can see Toby Michaels at Belladrum 2022, performing at the Free Range Folk Stage stage on the 30th of July at 515pm. All things Belladrum can be found on our Belladrum Festival Page.
