Dude Trips, Pure Grief and Peplo head up the first announcement to the line-up for Outsider Art Festival

Outsider Art Fest returns for it’s 2nd official outing in 2021. Stephen Baikie , event organiser, said “as always we’ve built a line up of some of Scotland ‘s best bands on the go at the moment”. The event will also showcase a selection of local comedians and artists.

Fraserburgh based Alt Rock/ Emo, Dude Trips headline after supporting Spoke Too Soon in 2019 at The Ironworks. The gig which was described as “a set which initially strikes me as pounding energy, it quickly reveals layers of unequivocal emotion. It just drips grief and yet points towards hope.”

Pure Grief released their first album, last year, our reviewer enthused;  “little gems like ‘Loyal to No One, Local to Nowhere’ are bringing the little sparks of light in an otherwise dark tunnel”.

Glasgow band Peplo blend pop songcrafting with an alternative edge have come to the attention of Tom Robinson and has had their most recent track featured on BBC Radio 6’s Introducing Mixtape.

Blackpool rising stars Octopus Montage and the Alt/rock Aberdonians Terra Nøva will both play Inverness debuts. Opening the event Bad Actress a five-piece hard rock and blues band, with a touch of glam, think of the likes of AC/DC and Iron Maiden. Check out their recent single ‘No Vacancies in Hell’.
