Kaiser Chiefs to play Inverness in August

Kaiser Chiefs have been announced to play Northern Meeting Park, on Saturday 17th August 2019.

The for-seers of trouble will return to inverness nearly four years to the day since their triumphant headline Belladrum set that was described as a “perfect end to Belladrum 2015, and shows that The Kaiser Chiefs are still a major player in the world of music.”

Fronted by lead singer and former The Voice judge Ricky Wilson, the indie rock band have been renowned for a number of punk pop anthems including including ‘I Predict a Riot’, ‘Na Na Na Na Naa’ and of course ‘Ruby’. Rolling Stone described the band’s tunes as “Danceable art-punk gems full of guitar fuzz, na-na-na choruses and boyish energy…”.

Ricky Wilson, perhaps just a bit too excited to remember the band’s other appearances in the area, said:

“We’re really excited to be playing in Inverness this August as we’ve heard great things about the Highlands. We’ll put on an outstanding show and will pick out some of our best-known smash hits to perform, so come and join us, and let’s make it an unforgettable night.”

The gig adds to the bill of ‘Live in the City’ organised by local concert promoter, LCC Live, in Inverness this summer which included Skipinnish (5th July 2019), The Proclaimers (6th July 2019), Madness (23rd August 2019) and most recently announced, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (8th June 2019) have all been confirmed to perform in the city.

Tickets for Kaiser Chiefs go on sale at 9am on Friday (15th February 2019) from Ticketline (www.ticketline.co.uk; 0844 888 9991)
