SCBUSTOCK returns to the Spectrum Centre in February 2016.
In 2015 the first SCBUSTOCK made just over £12,000, made all the more impressive by the modest ambition of one of the organisers Kris Douglas; “When I first thought of SCBUSTOCK I had an initial target of £500 – to have exceeded that by so much was just unbelievable.” The money has spent on various equipment for the SCBU unit including a Vapotherm machine which heats oxygen, making inhalation less painful for babies with breathing difficulties.
The plan to bring the event back was hinted after the initial fundraiser, and this year fundraising has started impressively with local businesses Jacobite Cruises and The Heathmount Hotel having already agreed to pay for the on the night costs. Moray Security Ltd are also providing their security for the night free of charge. Stephanie Douglas (another organiser) identified the importance of the help “every penny raised will go direct to SCBU. Their generosity is really overwhelming, we can’t thank them enough.”
The music for the evening will be provided by Sara Bills & The Hasbeens, Dr Wook, Mystic Shoes, Woodentooth, The Side and Lional creating an indie/rock /pop vibe for the evening. Please remember that tickets for last year’s event sold out swiftly, so if you plan to go, get your tickets quick.
Additional entertainment will be provided in the venue’s bar area where refreshments served by Bars R Us will be accompanied by retro tunes from Gramophone DJ, and souvenir photo booth snaps by Betty Booth.
A huge raffle was held alongside the 2015 event, with in excess of 110 prizes donated by local organisations and individuals. Donations for the 2016 are currently being accepted via the events Facebook page.
Tickets for the event to be held on the 27th of Feb with tickets costing £10 and can be purchased online.
