The Greenhouse, Dingwall will host a protest event in October.

Organised through the Independent Musicians and Promoters the event in Dingwall is one of many throughout the country, the national organisers explain the idea;
“Every weekend across the UK we have an explosion of music and culture. Itās something to be proud of ā Gigs, open mics, poetry, stand up. It makes our communities vibrant and strong.
But we also know that in our communities people are being hit hard by homelessness and poverty. There is a human cost to the politics of austerity.
āWe Shall Overcomeā is a simple shout out to the people who make our culture happen ā the musicians, artists, promoters. For one weekend, letās do what we do but letās do it under one unified banner ā We Shall Overcome. Letās do it together to show our solidarity and send a message that we donāt agree with austerity politics.organise for a weekend of solidarity against austerity across the country.”
The idea has struck a chord with the concept , named afterĀ “We Shall Overcome” which was borne out of theĀ African- American Civil Rights Movement, being Ā described asĀ the biggest ever Independent Musician lead event.
Acts who will be playing the Dingwall event includeĀ Emma Mitchell, Davy Cowan, Sara Bills and theĀ Love Ancients.
All money raised willĀ go to helping refugees, withĀ The Greenhouse is also being the drop off point for for local food banks, donations are always very welcome.
