‘You are watching the best thing you will see all weekend and the three most handsome men!’ shouted singer Stewart Brock.

For those of you who have missed the Prides whirlwind over the last few years, they are a Scottish synthpop trio formed in Glasgow and also, in my opinion, one of the funnest live acts I’ve seen recently. Their enthusiastic stage presence and repetoire with the crowd make them great to watch.

Anybody watching on Friday afternoon would have noticed they’re not lacking in self confidence either. ‘You are watching the best thing you will see all weekend and the three most handsome men!’ shouted singer Stewart Brock.

The band blend big synth sounds with powerful drumming by Lewis Gardiner and huge sing along chorus’ that are fit for a stadium and I feel big stadium shows are where this band are heading. Having only formed in 2013, things are moving fast for Prides.

Their debut album was released last month, entering into the UK album charts and they have already played high profile events such as the Commonwealth Games but hey, what could be more important than the Belladrum main stage. Tracks from their 2014 EP The Seeds You Sow went down a storm with the crowd along with newer material from the album also getting the place bouncing.

As the set came to an end the band released beach balls into the crowd and promised before their final song that they would be back in the Highlands but they would also be back at Belladrum as a headliner in the very near future. Ooh!

Catch photos of Prides playing at the Tomatin Bothy later in the day.
