“Rising Scottish four-piece Tijuana Bibles”

“Neo-Psychedelic Rock ‘n’ Roll” four piece, consisting of Tony Costello (vocals/guitar), Behn Cross (bass), James Brannigan (guitar) and Mikey Dornan (drums). Whether they are “The best new band around” (Billy Sloan) or “The real deal” (Jim Gellatly), there is no denying that they are building up a fair head of steam.

When we spoke to James last year, he was keen to impress it was not the public attention that they strived for “for us because we started writing songs together purely for ourselves. We didn’t think about what people would make of what we were trying to do.”

Tijuana Bibles arranged to play the gig when an enthusiastic supporter of the band , and Union Records owner, hooked up with the guys over social media and was able to get the guys to play at Creative Skate.

An enthralling, and oh so short, couple of songs followed to an keen audience, that took us back to goNORTH last year when the likes of Algernon Doll and Silver Coast played acoustic during the event.

The band play Mad Hatters, 26/02 then go up north to support Neon Waltz for a couple of sold out dates in Thurso and Wick. Further dates for the band can be found on Facebook.
