Following on from the news that Dingwall Events will be hosting MacFloyd in November, the organisation have announced that Rhythmnreel will be playing Dingwall Town Hall on Friday September 19th 2014.
The Celtic Rock / Traditional style band continue to entertain the Highlands and European audiences with their brand of “party good jump up and down, fun” as the band described in an interview with us in 2012 and anybody at the Hogmanay Party in 2013 would attest.
Drawing from Celtic rock to traditional ceilidh tunes, via a Paolo Nutini or Rod Stewart cover or two or three…, the band’s lead singer (Jim Kennedy) creates an infectious enthusiasm that draws crowds in and runs them ragged. With good reason the band are always in demand from festivals including frequent Belladrum appearences to weddings to village halls.
2012 saw the release of Twenty an album a move away from expectation in that it includes almost entirely original material with Donnie Munro describing it as “an album filled with the energy and drive of a great live band”.
The band celebrate 21 years together after forming in 1993, original member and bassist explains why they wanted to return to Dingwall “”Over the years Rhythmnreel have played at some amazing gigs in Dingwall, and as a band with local roots, we couldn’t think of a better place to play at and celebrate coming of age”.
