Following the previous announcement, Brew at the Bog 2014 have added more bands to the lineup and it’s fast looking like one of the strongest so far in the fledgling festival’s three year history.

Joining the likes of The Broken Ravens, Jo Mango,Lionel and Shambles Miller we have former Fence Records stalwart King Creosote who will be performing as part of a ‘special collaborative art event’ .Roddy Woomble is possibly best know for his work with Idlewild but he has been making waves with his solo folk material over the past few years.

Miaoux Miaoux make a return to the festival along with last year’s highlight Prides who have been gaining increasing plaudits for their anthemic electro pop tunes.  Johnny Lynch of The Pictish Trail will perform a solo acoustic set and additional folk flavours are provided in the shape of Findlay Napier, Annie Eve and The Elephant Sessions. Glasgow band Tuff Luff are enticingly described as having the best bits of Electrelane and The Breeders and Machines in Heaven have been touted as the ‘next Chvrches’.

Casual Sex have just finished supporting Franz Ferdinand on their tour of North America and their dark sleazy tunes are bound to go down a storm at Brewbog. Last but not least, Glasgow newbies Skinny Dippers, who have only being playing live since November, make their Brew at the Bog debut.

The diversity of the lineup means that this year’s Brew at the Bog is shaping up to be another highlight on the festival calendar.

I've always loved music and spent my late teens and early twenties playing guitar in various bands on Lewis and Aberdeen. Other than playing in some truly terrifying pubs in Aberdeen not much came of it and life became focused on family and having a 'proper' job. Inverness Gigs is an outlet for me to quell my inner frustrated musician and the caliber of local acts has even inspired me to take my own music more seriously again. Who knows, one day I might venture back on stage under the fierce scrutiny of an Inverness Gigs reviewer! You can contact Toby direct at Toby@Igi.gs
