They always prove popular when they arrive in the north and we’ve said of them previously when they played Invergordon in June “fine lead vocals, the close harmonies, sophisticated lyrics and well crafted songs, not to mention that good look”. K. Creighton of Popdose says “It’s only after you’ve experienced The Winter Tradition’s full set up in a sold out venue that the big musical “O” occurs — and when it does, it’s glorious.”

With previous opening slots for Hundred Reasons, Enter Shikari, The Xcerts, Nine Black Alps and The Boxer Rebellion, as well as sold out hometown shows at The Liquid Room and The Voodoo Rooms under their belt, 2014 promises to be the best year to date for the band.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (22nd November) from The Winter Tradition.

Priced at £5 for a ticket, there are also great value bundles available with t-shirts and the album ‘Gradients’ included.

Chartered surveyor by day, music reviewer by night, and occasionally I get to use my camera. A strange mix, but one that I enjoy. A chance meeting in the queue for Bella in 2010 led to the opportunity to write for InvernessGigs; a far cry from the days of writing for a football fanzine back in the late 80s, early 90s. My interests lie between the mainstream, the emerging and the local. Increasingly I find that we have more than enough locally to entertain us to necessitate a trip south. I’m always happy to give a listen, whatever the genre. Inverness has a plethora of talent, all of which I am more than keen to write about. If it encourages just one person to make the effort to listen to some new music I’ll be happy. You can contact Frank direct via frankieboyfin@gmail.com
