Runrig have announced that they will be headlining Party on the Moor at the Black Isle Showground, Muir of Ord, as part of the their 40th Anniversary celebrations, on the 10th of August 2013.
After their successful concert at the Northern Meeting Park in August this year, Runrig have announced that they will return to the Highlands as part of their 40th Anniversary celebrations. They will play at the Black Isle Showground on the 10th of August 2013.
Titled ‘Party on the Moor’ it will be the showcase event of a year long celebration and will include a Ceilidh on Friday the 9th in the on-site Grand Barn followed by the main concert on Saturday the 10th.
Formed in Skye in 1973 the Celtic Rock act were one of the first big acts from Scotland to openly embrace their Gaelic heritage before embarking on a 39 year career (they’re not quite 40 yet!) that has seen them sell out venues all over the world. The band have recently released Stepping Down the Glory Road (The Chrysalis Years 1988-1996)
Speaking via Runrig.com founding band member Rory Macdonald said “Our 40 Year is about celebrating where we came from and looking forward to our future. This will really be a celebration of everything Runrig and we promise a year that the fans will not forget. We want to thank the loyal fans who have been with us from the beginning and those who have come on board at various points of the journey. This will be one of the biggest events we will ever have staged”
Support acts have been announced and we’re sure it’s going to be a weekend to remember.
