Australian Jim Jefferies will be bringing the funny for what is an exclusive appearance in Scotland this year. With a track record of impressive and popular one man shows including Alcholocaust and the most recent Hammered, he is currently consolidating his success with both tour and TV series Legit in America. Also headlining will be Irishman, Bafta and Perrier award winner Dylan Moran, who will  add his off-beat observational eye on life to the line-up.

Daniel Sloss, and his never aging “half man half Xbox” tag line, the “precocious professional comic” returns to Rockness bringing with him a CV that would impress at double his age. He will be joined by Des Clarke, whose energetic scattergun style has been vividly described by the Sunday Herald as “  a racing car wrapped in an express train inside a space rocket”. Outspoken and fearless are two of the descriptions of Janey Godley who Billy Connolly simply dubbed as a “f**king great comedian” is also added to the billing.

The monster comedy line-up also includes Mark Nelson, Reverend Obadiah Steppeneolffe III, Alana Anderson, Allan J Park, Anna Devitt, Ashley Godley, Billy Kirkwood, Bratchy, Chris Conroy, Chris Forbes, Chris Henry, Dan Petherbridge, Davey Connor, Dogshit Johnson, Eddie Cassidy, Gary Little, Jamie Dalgleish, Jellybeen Martinez, John Gavin, John McGoldrick, John Walker, Josh Dunn, Julia Sutherland, Kai Humphries, Mikey Adams, Ray Bradshawe, Scott Agnew, Scott Cassidy & The Better Musicians, Scott Gibson, Stuart Mitchell, Vocal Point and Wee Man.

Rockness 2013 also confirmed that The Cuban Brothers will be special guests simply put “the Cubans have been with RockNess since the start and their humour-laced performances are now the stuff of legend.”

Commenting on this year’s comedy at RockNess, Festival Director Jim King said “The comedy programme has been a brilliant addition to the festival and its gone from strength to strength. We’re really honoured that Jim Jefferies has chosen RockNess as the only gig he’s doing in Scotland this year, and one of only two for the whole of the UK. Dylan Moran will go down a storm too for sure. This is a great announcement of the very best from the Scottish comedy circuit including some really must-see breakthrough acts. The Comedy Arena is going to be the place to grab a drink, kick back and have a few laughs.”

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
