What’s your involvement in the music scene?

Dj, Gig goer.

How has 2011 been for you musically?

Best yet Inverness wise. On a Dj level really good having played so many good nights in the likes of Cake, Mad Hatters, Ironworks and also SoundClash playing Rockness :) and as a gig goer brilliant as Ironworks are now booking guys such as Dj Yoda who we had the pleasure of supporting :) and more bass heavy acts like Chase and Status, Goldie which on a personal level is brilliant.

What was the best local act this year. and why?

Dj wise i`d say Boomshake Djs and my partner in crime Kaos Theory :) Music wise i`ve been lucky enough to hear some of the new stuff The L.E.D are doing at the moment which is pretty damn good and have a lot of resect for what Polymath is doing as well.

What was the best non-local act you have seen this year?

Id have to say Dj Yoda at Ironworks as Ive been a massive fan since i started djing and have so much respect for him and to see his AV show in Inverness and also be on the same bill made it all the more special. Raving wise has to be Chase & Status (CRAZY) :)

What was your favourite music experience this year?

Has to be playing Rockness. Was an awesome experience and seeing other guys like Audiolife, Filth etc. playing as well was brilliant. Fingers crossed for next year :) and of course supporting Dj Yoda at Ironworks.

What do you want from Santa?

World peace and NO Inverness Curfew!!! :)

What’s your hopes for the music scene in 2012?

To be healthy :)

What are your plans for 2012?

I`ll be dabbling in the world of music production and we (SoundClash) already have gigs lined up in places like Glasgow, Aviemore etc. as well as Inverness for the early part of 2012 so hope its a good a year as it was 2011. Fingers crossed.

Thanks to Ally for his time.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
