The Insider is back for 2011, with a souped up website (Insiderfestival) a Victorian theme (“If you arrive by horse drawn carriage, hot air balloon, traction engine, penny-farthing or flying machine you will be issued with ale tokens to the tune of twenty pounds per conveyance.”) and a very un-Victorian but cracking line up.
The Festival (held on the 17th – 20th of June) at Inshriach House (near Aviemore) provides a contrast in attitude, line up and cost, to Rockness which is on the weekend before.
There is a fantastic array of talent on show: Stanley “think of a number” Odd, Admiral Fallow whose busy summer sees them at a vast array of festivals from Glastonbury to Belladrum, the Americana / Country style of Wahington Irving, the Scotsman described “Falling somewhere in the nexus between grunge, sludge and noise rock” Bronto Skylift and winners of the BBC folk awards for three years running, Lau.

Tickets are priced at £75 for the weekend, £25 for the Friday, £35 for the Saturday, £35 for the Sunday and children under 12 are free. Tickets are available here.
