Rockness.. nothing to see here

By now we expected to have been covering the latest announcement for Rockness 2011. We are not! no announcement not a word, well maybe a few words, I’ll explain…

Why did we believe an announcement was occurring? well Jim King (Organiser) said on the 24th of February that more acts would be within a month, this was reiterated by the official Facebook admin.

A post late Thursday night stated  “Latest is it is hoping to be announced by the weekend but
agents are delaying it.. s*** happens.”

It’s interesting, Rockness are developing a reputation for irregular and inconsistent communication with festival goers, and certainly deadlines are frequently given then not adhered to. Whilst we can understand that there are reasons for change in announcement dates, it is frustrating (have a look at the festival forums you will see what we mean).

So what happens next, who knows? but lets hope that Rockness look at ways of communicating with it’s fans in a more efficient manner.

In the meantime it is widely expected that the following acts will be playing: Saint Saviour, Benji Boko, Carl Craig, Gary Beck, Broken Records and Dem Slackers.

A lifelong passion for music matched with a geeky fascination for social media and websites resulted in the creation of Inverness Gigs back in 2010. The aim of the site is to help promote, support and generally raise awareness of the local music scene. In fairness fifteen years of being a psychiatric nurse never prepared me for the experiences that we have had over the last few years and the evolution of Inverness Gigs has certainly been a steep learning curve.I currently write (less and less), edit and co-ordinate most of the Inverness Gigs activities.Occasionally seen on Twitter, and  LinkedIn, if you want get in touch you can contact me via our Facebook page.
