Photography Competition Terms and Conditions

In order to enter you must submit two “low res” images capturing the Inverness music scene to with the subject heading “Photography Competition Entry”, please note the competition closes at 1300 GMT on Friday 29th November, 2013. Please read all of the terms and conditions before entering.

  1. Entrants are to submit two photographs, capturing the Inverness music scene, as low res files  in colour or black and white.
  2. Entrants must include your name , their date of birth, and contact telephone number and a short description of each image is also required.
  3. Multiple entries will result in all entries not being considered
  4. Entrants must be 18 or above and be able to attend Belladrum 2014 and contribute the winning images in high resolution format to Inverness Gigs for inclusion in the exhibition.
  5. Entrants must not be professional photographers. For the purposes of this competition, a professional photographer will be considered to be someone who makes more than half their annual income from photography.
  6. Entries from regular Inverness Gigs contributors will not be accepted.
  7. Entrants must give a title to each photograph and use it as the file name.
  8. Entries should be sent in low res form ( (maximum size 1000px for the longest side) to  Subject heading must be “Inverness Gigs Photography Exhibition Entry”.
  9. Unsuccessful entrants will not be contacted and no feedback on any entry will be provided.
  10. The photographs will go before a panel of three judges.
  11. The winner will have their work displayed at  the photography exhibition at Eden Court and will be given a pass to take photographs at the Seedling Stage, Belladrum 2014 (as per the agreement of the organisers of Belladrum 2014). There will be no cash alternatives.
  12. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs entered.
  13. We are looking for original photographs that have not previously been published in the press.
  14. Entrants will retain copyright in the photographs that they submit to Inverness Gigs. By entering the competition all entrants grant to Inverness Gigs the right to publish and exhibit their photographs on the website and social media. Entrants whose photographs are one of the finalists also agree to take part in post-competition publicity.
  15. Inverness Gigs reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
  16. If the winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, Inverness Gigs reserves the right to either offer the prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the prize in any future competition.
  17. By entering, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and Inverness Gigs reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if Inverness Gigs  has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules.
