Raintown to play InvernessĀ in May.
Joining the charge of acts ,such asĀ The Shires and Ward Thomas to bring country music to a contemporary audience, Raintown areĀ Paul Bain and Claire McArthur-Bain who are nearing a decade performing together.
Drawing comparisons to the American super-group,Ā Lady Antebellum, RaintownĀ have certainly won plaudits and numerous awards for their approach which can be sampled in tracks includingĀ āNineteen Again,ā Ā āIf this was a Love Song,ā andĀ āShut the Front Door’.
During their time, Raintown have supported Scottish music legends Runrig at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire and Wet Wet Wet withĀ their 25th Anniversary concert, which speaks volumes for the crossover nature of Raintown’s approach. They continue their un-rivalled run of performances at the the C2C: Country2Country music events which have seen them be the only band to have played every event.
Their most recent albumĀ , the crowd funded,Ā āWriting on the Wallā was released in 2015 and earned them much praise including Country Music People who described it asĀ āan excellent album from very astute and talented musicians. Listen to it, go and see one of their dynamic live performances and get on the Raintown bandwagon because the best is yet to comeā.
Speaking with Paul about the gig he said “We’re really excited to be coming back up to Inverness. We love the area and know the people love a great night of live music; we intend to give them that and more!”. Acknowledging the band’s debut in the iconic venue he added;Ā “We have never played Eden Court before and the One Touch Theatre is such a great room for live music. We think the combination of a great venue, with a big stage, allows us to give the very best show.”
Twenty Ten present RaintownĀ at the Eden Court, InvernessĀ on MayĀ the 5th.
