We look at the full line-up of MusicPlus acts taking to the stage at Belladrum 2015.
2015 has seen us cover four of the local (relatively) acts who are playing under the MusicPlus banner this year, although perhaps remiss of us to not mention the other musicians playing too.

Gill Maxwell Executive Director of the Scottish Music Centre explained the important role Belladrum has with Music Plus and Hit the Road;
“Working with our colleagues at Belladrum, our partnership is providing a fantastic new opportunity for talented young musicians to gain valuable experience of performing in a festival setting and all the challenges that brings! Weāre delighted to see the next generation of music makers burst onto the scene, having taken advantage of the support and knowledge on offer through participation in Music Plus and Hit The Roadā.
There are twelve slots in total under the Music Plus banner,please see our features on Hollie Atkinson, Dorris Kissee Kissee, Michiel Turner and TSTMNT, playing various stages from Bella Bar to Mother’s Ruin.
Jemma Tweedie is a familiar face on the Inverness scene ,albeit not recently, having played Belladrum, Rockness, goNorth and a sensational 40 gig tour of Cafe Nero stores. She is currently working on her debut album and returns to Belladrum playing Bella Bar on the 7th of August at 1130am.
Shanine Gallacher described her involvement in MusicPlus ;
“I was lucky enough to be a Music Plus participant in 2013 when I turned 16. The mentoring sessions took place with Joe McAlinden [Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits, Edwyn Collins] who would travel all the way to Ardnamurchan, for each of the meetings. He would listen carefully as I played him my songs, and would bring his own guitar and play along with me, which would constantly develop, make me feel more confident about performing in front of others and give me more and more ideas to develop my songwriting.”
Shanine Gallacher (who also founded another MusicPlus supported act in Chainsaw Tea Party) hails from Ardnamurchan and has played the Tiree Music Festival, Best of the West as well as appearing on STV.
Shanine Gallacher plays as part of Chainsaw Tea Party on the 8th of August at Bellas Bar 12 MD, then on her own at the Busking Ship Forecast at 1845.
Greenock based all girl rock band Beautiful Expectations quote influences such as Biffy Clyro, A Day to Remember, Don Broco and currently released EP ‘Living Like an Animal”. They have managed performances in King Tuts and Broadcast, but their Belladrum slot will be the band’s festival debut.
Beautiful Expectations play Bella Bar at 12MD on the 8th of August.
Something, Someone, are no strangers to the area, having played Glachbeg on a couple of occassion including Croft Music in July. The Indie/Folk three piece are Morgan Woods, Rachel Elliott and Allan Harkness, and have been described as “knowing how to expose the beauty within their songs while still bringing the pop element forward; providing the soundtrack to either a lovely summers evening or a drive through the Highlands.”
