Following on from the announcement that The Proclaimers will headline Thursday night Kaiser Chiefs have been announced to headline the Saturday night of this year’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.
With a hat full of hits including indie anthems ‘I Predict a Riot’, ‘Na Na Na Na Naa’ and of course ‘Ruby’. Rolling Stone described the band’s tunes as “Danceable art-punk gems full of guitar fuzz, na-na-na choruses and boyish energy…”.
Frontman, Ricky Wilson follows in the footsteps of fellow The Voice judge, Tom Jones who wowed the Belladrum audience in the same slot in 2014. He won us over with his frankness as exampled in last year’s interview with The Guardian where he talks about the band’s previous complacency, perhaps more so than foil to Will. I. Am.
“The Kaisers 2008 gig at Strathpeffer has gone down in Highland lore as one of those epic ‘I was there’ moments. Much to my disappointment, I wasn’t, so I’m really delighted to be able to bring the band back to the Highlands for their first ever festival here,” said Belladrum promoter Joe Gibbs.
