Ten Tonne Dozer to Tear Up Mad Hatters

If your taste is the heavier end of the rock spectrum then mark your diary for Thursday May 22nd at Mad Hatters when they play host to Shetland Viking rock act Ten Tonne Dozer.

Ten Tonne Dozer - Hatters May 22ndFormed in 2005, Ten Tonne Dozer are a powerful 5 member heavy rock unit who are based on the remote Shetland Islands, making the band the UK’s most northern heavy rock band.

Ten Tonne Dozer have played many gigs and tours, dozering their way throughout UK and Europe, with their live shows being choc full of dozer mayhem and packing some serious ten tonne punch. What an awe inspiring mix of blood, sweat, broken strings, and sheep skulls. It paves the way for the beginning of an epic journey throughout the ages of dishevelled dirt mongering slovenly metal and downright filthy Viking rock in Shetland.

Support comes from Inverness based heavy metal outfit Seed of Sorrow and Toby Michaels performing a solo set. Seed of Sorrow are no slouches as they were winners this year of the Eagle Bar Battle of the Bands competition. This can also be said of Toby who packs a fair punch in his solo sets.

A night not to be missed.

Doors are 9.00 pm and show is free entry.

Chartered surveyor by day, music reviewer by night, and occasionally I get to use my camera. A strange mix, but one that I enjoy. A chance meeting in the queue for Bella in 2010 led to the opportunity to write for InvernessGigs; a far cry from the days of writing for a football fanzine back in the late 80s, early 90s. My interests lie between the mainstream, the emerging and the local. Increasingly I find that we have more than enough locally to entertain us to necessitate a trip south. I’m always happy to give a listen, whatever the genre. Inverness has a plethora of talent, all of which I am more than keen to write about. If it encourages just one person to make the effort to listen to some new music I’ll be happy. You can contact Frank direct via frankieboyfin@gmail.com
