On the 27th of February Brown Bear and Bandits make a welcome journey north when they make a return visit to Mad Hatters for a special acoustic set.
The Largs band have made the journey up the A9 on numerous occasions taking in Belladrum, Loopallu, MV Festival and BFest on their travels. Noted for combining folk guitar, celtic airs and pop hooks with meaningful lyrics, they create a unique “must hear’ sound.
As well as their impressive live sets, they have also gained the attention of the likes of Jim Gellatly, Vic Galloway and Ally McCrae, and in 2012 picked up the award for Best Acoustic Act at The 2012 Scottish Alternative Music Award in front of a sold out crowd in Glasgow Garage. Support comes from local act Red Ronson. Always quirky and equally innovative, Red Ronson have built up a loyal following consolidated by their single release last year ‘Paper Statues’. Currently in the process of putting together a video for one of their songs, it is hard to keep these guys still. Listen out for some super sweet, and by equal measure, cutting lyrics.
