Scottish traditional music powerhouse Skerryvore has announced their return to Inverness this December, marking another milestone in their 20th anniversary celebrations. The award-winning band will perform at Inverness Leisure Centre on Friday, December 5th, following their sold-out success at the same venue last year.

Since forming on the remote island of Tiree in 2005, Skerryvore has evolved from playing Scottish west coast venues to commanding international stages across the USA, Canada, Australia, and throughout Europe. Their journey exemplifies the global appeal of contemporary Scottish traditional music.
The three-time winners of Scotland’s ‘Live Act of the Year’ award have maintained remarkable momentum following their 2023 album ‘Tempus’, which topped both the Official Scottish Album and UK Folk Albums charts while reaching the UK top 40. Three singles from the album featured on BBC Radio 2’s new music playlist, cementing their mainstream appeal.
Skerryvore’s distinctive sound blends traditional Scottish instruments – bagpipes, fiddles, accordions, and whistles – with contemporary guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. This fusion has produced fan favourites like ‘Take My Hand’, ‘You & I’, and ‘Live Forever’, tracks that showcase their ability to honour tradition while embracing innovation.
āWe love Inverness! Last yearās gig in the Leisure Centre was one of the highlights of our year and such an incredible party atmosphere. We canāt wait to return to our Highland home this December for a very special occasion, and to do it all again!ā
Martin Gillespie from Skerryvore
