Trail West and Julie Fowlis Lead the Line-Up for the Highland’s Biggest Celebration of Traditional Music in the Highlands

The Gathering Festival is set to return to Inverness on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, promising a day filled with the finest traditional music from the heart of Scotland. This eagerly anticipated event will showcase an impressive line-up, featuring multi-award-winning sensation Julie Fowlis and the explosive six-piece West Coast act, Trail West.

Trail West, hailed as West Coast stars, have been on a roll since celebrating their 10th year as a band in 2022. Their journey included the release of their fourth album and a sold-out show at Glasgow’s iconic Barrowland Ballroom. With a string of successes, they continue to flourish, earning accolades like the Live Act of the Year nomination at the Scots Trad Music Awards in 2022.

Joining them is none other than Julie Fowlis, renowned for her contributions to the Disney Pixar movie “Brave” and her unwavering support for traditional Gaelic music. With deep roots in the Hebridean islands and Highland landscapes, Julie and her talented band promise a vibrant celebration of Scottish vocals.

The festival will also feature Highland legends Torridon, the popular progressive folk act Croft No Five, and the exciting Scottish-Electronic duo Valtos. Other acts include Sian, Cala, Malin Lewis, and of course The City of Inverness Youth Pipe Band. More acts will be revealed in the upcoming months, including the highly anticipated headliner for 2024.
