Toby Stainton shares his Belladrum playlist.

What’s your role at iGigs? Writer and occasional photographer.

What do you enjoy most about Belladrum? It’s the whole package that works for me, I love the sense of community that seems to seep through the core of the festival. That right turn (for me coming from Drum) into the Belladrum site feels like I’m coming home, it’s become that familiar to me. The atmosphere is always brilliant regardless what inconsequential things like the weather are doing, and I’m very much looking forward to being part of the Bella community again this July.

Tell us about your playlist. I’ve essentially pinpointed the bands I really want to go and see when I get there. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Hamish Hawk – so much so that I’ve put two of his tracks on there! I’ve also added a few bands who I think you should make a real effort to check out. Ibibio Sound Machine are bound to inject a bit of additional summer into the festival and Walt Disco are the right kind of bonkers! Of course a few local acts are on my ‘go see’ list. Not least Tamzene who continues to impress and her recent show with Adele at Hyde Park surely goes to show her star is on the rise.

All things Belladrum can be found on our Belladrum Festival Page.

I've always loved music and spent my late teens and early twenties playing guitar in various bands on Lewis and Aberdeen. Other than playing in some truly terrifying pubs in Aberdeen not much came of it and life became focused on family and having a 'proper' job. Inverness Gigs is an outlet for me to quell my inner frustrated musician and the caliber of local acts has even inspired me to take my own music more seriously again. Who knows, one day I might venture back on stage under the fierce scrutiny of an Inverness Gigs reviewer! You can contact Toby direct at Toby@Igi.gs
