iGigs Belladrum Contributor Playlists – Alan Cruickshank.

Alan Cruickshank shares his pick of Bella tunes.

Alan could probably claim a stake as being a stalwart of the iGigs teams. He’s covered most of the local festivals and can often be found catching the acts at the Ironworks and across Inverness.

What is your role in IGigs at Belladrum? Photographer (he does occasionally write for us too.)

What do you most enjoy about covering Belladrum? The huge range of music genres to photograph and enjoy and of course the people, they go a huge way to make the festival what it is.

Tell us a bit about your Belladrum playlist

I think my playlist shows nicely just how eclectic Belladrum is and has always been, you have from Christone “Kingfish” Ingram – (Think love child between Jimi Hendrix and BB King) through to Mason Hill – top growing rock band, to one of my musical heroes Nile Rodgers and then throw in some Shed 7, Forgetting the future, Goodbye Mr Mackenize and legends like Stiff Little Fingers, there truly is music for everyone at Bella.

All things Belladrum can be found on our Belladrum Festival Page.

I've always loved music and spent my late teens and early twenties playing guitar in various bands on Lewis and Aberdeen. Other than playing in some truly terrifying pubs in Aberdeen not much came of it and life became focused on family and having a 'proper' job. Inverness Gigs is an outlet for me to quell my inner frustrated musician and the caliber of local acts has even inspired me to take my own music more seriously again. Who knows, one day I might venture back on stage under the fierce scrutiny of an Inverness Gigs reviewer! You can contact Toby direct at Toby@Igi.gs
