Serious Child & Andy Ruddy to play Mad Hatters, September 2021.

Serious Child and Andy Ruddy hit the road to promote their collaborative album ‘talk about the weather’. The new project is described as having a fun and positive outlook and explores an eclectic range of contemporary topics from rejecting celebrity-obsessed culture to catfishing.

The pair choose to describe it as “the Beatles meets Simon & Garfunkel meets Scissor Sisters meets Bon Iver meets Mumford & Sons meets Serious Child meets Andy Ruddy”.

Looking forward to the tour, Serious Child said “We can’t wait to get on the road together and start doing live shows. We hope we can bring some humour and joy to Inverness audiences, especially since a lot of people have been stuck in the house for so long.” Andy Ruddy added “hopefully we can bring some much-deserved enjoyment and entertainment to people at Mad Hatters on the Talk About The Weather tour.”

Support comes from the ultra talented Moteh Parrott who was short-listed for the inaugural BBC Radio Scotland Singer/Songwriter Award in 2019. He described his sound in an interview in 2019 as , “[it’s] quite hard to define, although I usually say alternative indie folk or something similar… I’d say we were somewhere between Admiral Fallow, Ben Howard, Bon Iver, Elbow and Frightened Rabbit.”
