With the cancelation of the Red Hot Highland Fling announced and COVID-19 continuing to stomp it’s presence over our lives, Hogmanay will look very different this year. As such we were really pleased to hear that Graeme Mackay’s Ceilidh Cabin Hogmanay Party has been announced.

Most people will know Graeme from Tweed who have played throughout the UK and Europe, their hearts are very certainly with traditional ceilidh music but with a splattering of funk, ska and ,of course, toe-tapping beats.

The impact of COVID has resulted in Graeme finding another way to get his music and the music he has so much passion to his audience and saw the creation of Graeme Mackay’s Ceilidh Cabin which hosts various live gigs from his home in Elgin on Facebook. The sessions have grown in popularity and have seen the sense of community and belonging that we certainly need at this time.

With Tweed being one of our favourite Hogmanay bands, we were delighted to see that Graeme had announced a special the Ceilidh Cabin Hogmanay Party. The event promises to “Celebrate Hogmanay in Style with Graeme & co in the Cabin! Request tunes, enjoy the music and bring in the bells with the best of Scottish Music!”. The cabin is currently cooking up a few guest appearances for the evening as well as other ways to build the positive sense of community at this time.

Tickets are available at the Ceilidh Cabin Hogmanay Party Facebook page. You can find out more about the Ceilidh Cabin and its various other projects on their website.
