Asleep at the Reel Announce New Single

Asleep at the Reel are to release new track “Suddenly I See” in , September, 2020.

A collective of Highland musicians featuring former members of Rhythm N Reel, KOBI & Toby Michaels Rolling Damned that was formed during lockdown have got together to record a single in support of Maggie’s Highland after the centre was recently broken into and vandalised.
 
The group are called Asleep at the Reel and have produced a cover of “Suddenly I See” written and originally performed by KT Tunstall.
 
“We’ve chosen this song as it’s a song about light and hope which we thought would be fitting given the circumstances” said bassist Steve Robertson.
 
Frontman and guitarist Jim Kennedy adds “It was incredibly saddening to read about this destruction in a place that has offered comfort to many in the community so we wanted to do our bit with all proceeds going to the charity people can help just by streaming the track”.
 
Asleep at the Reel are a celtic rock inspired group with the single being recorded and produced within 5 days between the members of the bands individual homes and the music shed rehearsal space in Inverness.
 
The band are yet to perform live but are keen to play a debut live performance in early 2021 in aid of Maggies Highland.
 
With the future of live music uncertain the band hopes to perform a debut high profile gig in aid of Maggies Highland in early 2021.

Jim Kennedy – Vocal/Electric Guitar
Arthur Coates – Fiddle/Acoustic Guitar
Calum Martin – Drums/Mixing
Steve Robertson – Bass/Producer
The single features guest vocals from Ashley Fraser and percussion from Aberdeen producer Eclectic Soup.

The single comes out Friday Sept 11th and will be available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music amongst other digital stores and purchase on iTunes with all money from streams and sales will going direct to Maggies Highland.
