distance between us EP 1 530x530 - Distance Between Us Announce New EP

Local band Distance Between Us has released the ‘Live at The Tooth & Claw’ EP with a ‘Pay what you want’ option as a fundraising effort to help support one of the city’s Independent Grassroots Music Venues during the current lockdown due to COVID-19.

The Tooth & Claw played host to Distance Between Us who were supporting Dancing With Dakota on the 22nd February when the EP was recorded. The recording was only intended for the band to evaluate their performance and were delighted with the outcome. The band consider The Tooth & Claw their spiritual home and reached out with the offer to help during what is undoubtedly hard times for all businesses. The 6 track EP which includes fan favourite ‘Emergency Line’ and is available now via BandCamp

The full track listing is:

1. No Sugar Thanks, I’m Sweet Enough.
2. Same Old Story.
3. Home.
4. Okay.
5. Wretched State.
6. Emergency Line.

Here at Inverness Gigs we understand how times have got very hard for everyone and more than ever, we need to cherish and support our independent live venues. If you have spare pennies then this as good a cause as you’ll find anywhere. Venues across Scotland and the rest of the UK are in a perilous state at the moment and we can’t emphasise enough how important it is to get behind fundraisers like this. After all, if it wasn’t for the creatives we would have nothing to listen to or watch while we look for distractions during the lockdown.

This isn’t intended to be an EP review but of course we had to have a sneaky listen and the quality of the recording is impressive. We’d direct you back to a previous review where Alan declared them to be a ‘breath of fresh air’.

Live at the Tooth and Claw is out NOW on Bandcamp.

I've always loved music and spent my late teens and early twenties playing guitar in various bands on Lewis and Aberdeen. Other than playing in some truly terrifying pubs in Aberdeen not much came of it and life became focused on family and having a 'proper' job. Inverness Gigs is an outlet for me to quell my inner frustrated musician and the caliber of local acts has even inspired me to take my own music more seriously again. Who knows, one day I might venture back on stage under the fierce scrutiny of an Inverness Gigs reviewer! You can contact Toby direct at Toby@Igi.gs
