Tom Walker to play Strathpeffer and Forres in February, 2020.
Tom Walker will visit the Highlands next year as part of his acoustic tour and will visit Strathpeffer Pavillion on February 7th and The Loft in Forres on Saturday 8th February.
The Scottish born, Manchester-bred singer-songwriter broke through with his International hit single “Leave A Light On” which became one of the biggest songs of 2018 as well as featuring on the global Sony Bravia TV campaign. “Leave a Light On” also hit the #1 spot in the iTunes chart in 17 countries including the UK and has gone on to sell over 2 million copies worldwide (300 million streams globally).
The song went platinum in the UK, France, Belgium and Netherlands, is double platinum in Italy and Switzerland and was number four in the European Airplay Chart. It went on to be Top 20 in the Hot AC Airplay chart in the US and Tom performed it live on NBC’s The TODAY Show. Tom Walker has sold out his own headline shows all over the globe as well as supporting great artists like George Ezra and The Script and he has played over forty festivals this year alone…
…and so on and so forth. You might be tempted to see Mr Walker as a one hit wonder but if you peruse his back catalogue and plays on Spotify it’s readily apparent that he’s more than this one track. ‘Just You and I’ clocks in at over 130 Million listens and is apparently a first dance regular at weddings, he’s collaborated with Zara Larrson on ‘Now You’re Gone’ and with the Red Hot Chili Pipers for the charity Nordoff Robbins.
His appeal is apparent and listening to his music it’s obvious that he’ll go down well with Ed Sheeran adoring masses. These intimate gigs in Strathpeffer and Forres are a bit of a coup for the area especially in light of his sell out gigs at the Brixton Academy, Edinburgh Corn Exchange and the Olympia in Dublin. Unsurprisingly the latest single ‘Better Half of Me’ continues in the vein of emotive, hearts on sleeve song-writing that he’s really rather good at. The inspiration for the song comes from time spent on the road and away from his loved ones, ideal if you’re lonely and want a good cry according to the man himself.
Tom is currently looking for a support act to play the Highland gigs and is looking for solo artists or duos to apply to play an acoustic set to open for him.To apply complete the form here.
