We ask Franky’s Evil Party a few question ahead of their gig at XpoNorth in June.
Who are you and what do you do?
We are Franky’s Evil Party and we extend our invite to you all. We are the extremists of ecstasy, spreading our propaganda to vindicate the hedonist in each and every one of us. We march to the sound of a cold industrial twist on sleazy disco. We are brutal and violent whilst playing on your darkest fetishes.
We aim to challenge and offend your ideals. We are abrasive and coarse. Feel the rhythm, smell the sweat and embrace it. You cannot escape the hottest party in town. We are comprised of five members: Jordy, Meg, Max, Korey and our voice is Josh. Each of us is a perpetrator of the party and no one will stop us. Don’t resist us, take our hand and enter our new world order. We will guide you through until the sun rises.
There is so many acts and other things happening at XpoNorth, what makes your band stand out ?
It is all about the music. FRANKY’S EVIL PARTY stamps its dirty boot on all musical limits. It’s an envelope-pushing sound that drives you to dance. Not that it can be helped. You feel the beat and you move your feet. Simple as.
Which other acts are you hoping to catch at Xpo ?
There really is too many, although we have seen Crystal live and we hope to catch them at the XPONorth showcase event. From Glasgow, this band offers a hypnotic, dark and grungy sound. They’re ones to watch out for.
For the band, what has give you the greatest sense of achievement so far in your career?
With the band only being an entity for a short space of time, our greatest achievement to date has been networking with fellow bands, industry delegates and other artistic professionals. To have featured on Jim Gellatly’s Amazing Radio show and to have been picked as part of his monthly playlist, can be recalled as one to remember.
What’s on the horizon?
We have many plans in the pipeline, gigs will be announced as and when we get them. After the XPONorth, we look to play a couple of Glasgow shows in July. We have just released our second single, ‘KING’, and there are plans for the next few months to head back into the studio to write and record an EP – due to be released toward the end of this year.
Where can we catch you ?
On the 28th of the XPONorth, we will be playing a live set at the Tooth and Claw, alongside 100 Fables and The Nicklejack Men.
