Musicplus+ presents: A night of Hip Hop, rap, house and electronic music at Hootananny, Inverness
Four young Highland producers, MC’s and DJ’s take to the stage upstairs in Hootananny (Mad Hatters) in Inverness on the Thursday 31st of May to showcase their music.
All aged between 16 and 19 years old, the night of Hip hop, rap, house and electronic music features; Kane Carrol (Tistik), Telmo Monteiro (MOE), Cougar MacDougall and Lewis Fraser (Fozko). All four artists have participated on Musicplus+ and the event is being organised by a current Musicplus+ mentee Craig McDermott, who is interested in music business and event organisation. Rappers, Kane and Telmo will also be accompanied by Musicplus+ mentor and Spring Break frontman DJ Butterscotch. The event is FREE and open to people age 14 years and over.
Hailing from Dingwall, Cougar Macdougall is the youngest artist on the bill at 16 years old. The young DJ / producer has already performed at Highland festivals such as Groove Cairngorms and Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival through Musicplus+ last year. Cougar is particularly influenced by house music, and has successfully self-released his debut track Hot4u. The young artist is a definite one to watch with plenty in the pipeline for 2018.
From Inverness, Kane Carrol is known as Tistik. Kane writes his own music, lyrics and music videos. The majority of his songs are about his autism and he hopes that they help others get through their troubles.
Lewis Fraser, known by the stage name Fozko is an 18 year old DJ from Nairn. He developed a passion for electronic music after DJing at small parties and private events, leading to a residency at The Play House club in Nairn. Each week he hones his craft and is currently perfecting his production abilities and building upon his reputation. Fozko performed through Musicplus+ last year at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.
Telmo Monteiro, known as MOE, is a 17-year-old aspiring hip-hop artist from Nairn. Telmo began writing his own lyrics and producing his own music age just 14 years old and launched as MOE in January this year. His music is focused on mainstream commercial hip- hop and to date he has released two singles via SoundCloud gaining more than 10,000 plays.
The event is FREE and open to people age 14 years and over.
