Tom Clarke to play Ironworks in May.
The Ironworks have announced that The Enemy’s lead singer, Tom Clarke,as part of his UK tour, expect to hear all the old favourites with some of Clarke’s newer material.
Caroline Campbell, Venue Director, says “We’re delighted that Tom Clarke has included the Ironworks as part of his UK Tour. It’s another great gig for the venue and Highlands and we look forward to hosting him in May.”
Tom Clarke is the principal songwriter lead singer and multi-instrumentalist of the Coventry band The Enemy, an English Indie rock band formed in 2006. The band’s debut album We’ll Live and Die in These Towns (2007) went straight to Number 1 in the UK Albums Chart on release. Their second album Music for the People (2008) went to Number 2 on the UK Albums Chart. Streets in the Sky, their third studio album, was released on 21 May 2012 and was also their third UK top 10 album.
The Enemy say they made music about friendship and social commentary much like The Jam & The Libertines. Tom Clarke has said that bands such as The Clash and Oasis have had a “huge influence on our friendships within the band and with our families. These bands taught us to open our hearts”. No stranger to the area, Tom has previously played in the Ironworks with the band and there’s no doubt his return will be welcomed by fans across the Highlands.
Support comes from Joe Dolman and former Catfish and The Bottlemen guitarist, Billy Bibby.
