C.Macleod to play Mad Hatters in September.
Holding his heritage and culture, proudly front and centre, C.Macleod formerly ‘The Boy Who Trapped The Sun” returns to Inverness. Katie Laing’s excellent article entitled “A Decidedly Unstarry Music Star” gives a great insight into the singer song-writer whose new record deal with BMG kicks off with ‘Bloodlines’.
The forthcoming album is produced by Ethan Johns who has worked with the likes of Tom Jones, Ryan Adams, Laura Marling. The pair original met when Calum supported Ethan as he toured the Highland together in 2013.
On discussing his music “Ethan said, these are really traditional Gallic songs,” Colin remembers. “You’re rewiring old stories of ghosts, seafarers. It wasn’t until he pointed it out that I realised that’s what it was!”. The insight help identify the nature of the tunes and Macleod’s approach ; “folk music in its attitude rather than technique”.
Beyond Presents brings C.Macleod , with support to be announced, as he plays Mad Hatters, Inverness on the 6th of September, 2017.
