Dorec-a-belle to play Inverness in April.
Dorec-a-belle return to the Eden Court a little under two years since their last performance at the venue (you can read a review of the gig here).
Since the band formed in 2011, they have had a series of high profile gigs including playing the Red Hot Highland Fling, Wickerman Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Live@Troon, Danny Kyle Stage Celtic Connections, Southside Festival and Loopallu. On top of that they released acclaimed debut album ‘Listen’ in 2015.
When Dorec-a-belle play Eden Court this time round will see a five-piece band , consisting of Bev, Maryann, Robin and Derek and Liza take to the stage, as cellist Imke Henderson is on maternity leave. The band will be performing new material that evolved from a ‘creative weekend’ at a bothy on the west coast near Dundonnell last summer. One of the tracks Dorec-a-belle are particularly keen to showcase is ‘Stoopid’, which recounts the story of the song was inspired by an encounter with a homeless man on the street that Bev and her husband, on holiday in Nashville.
After they play the theatre they will be returning to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to play the Merchants’ Hall again this summer although it is also hoped that they will be confirming additional gigs in the near future to help promote the new material and the aforementioned ‘Stoopid’.
