Belladrum Festival announces independent label and confirms first signing.

Following recently announcing a substantial amount of acts for Belladrum 2017, the organisers have decided not to rest on their laurels and have announced the launch of independent label, Belladrum Records.

Director of Belladrum Records described the aims of the new label; “The Highlands has always had a deep natural reservoir of musical talent and we’re delighted that these artists have the option of partnering with a strong regionally based label infrastructure- a platform which is also directly associated with one of Scotland’s biggest and best music festivals.”

First release for the label will be from Tamzene described by Gibbs as “one of the most exciting new artists we’ve seen in some time”. The 19 year old Gordonstoun alumni , currently studying at Leeds College of Music, is a highly talented multi-instrumentalist and quotes Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin Nina Simone, Birdy and Alicia Keys as influences.

Lullaby’, was written and recorded with one of Scotland’s leading songwriters and producers Joe McAlinden and mixed by Grammy Award winner David Donaldson. The track has a real timeless quality about it, good production values, a sham jazz feel, reminiscent of Norah Jones a pleasing rolling melody with a lovely chorus that you will never tire of, terrific harmonies round it off. As for release date – maybe too early, this song has sounds of summer ripping through it.

‘LULLABY’ will be released on Friday 7th April 2017.
