Scotland’s leading creative industries conference and showcase starts it’s search for the next ‘big thing’ inĀ film, writing and music.
XpoNorth 2016 sawĀ 106 films, 66 bands and 26 writersĀ selected to showcase, with applications being consistently high year on year the opportunity to win the attentions on some of the 2000 delegates is much sought after.
XpoNorth director Amanda Millen reflectedĀ “Every year we are always overwhelmed ā in a good way ā by the amount of submissions which are received across the board. There’s a lot of people out there creating high quality films, music and pieces of writing but the important part is getting that work in front of a discerning audience. That is often the difference between success and failure and it’s whatĀ XpoNorthĀ does so well.”
XpoNorth, which is funded byĀ Highlands & Islands EnterpriseĀ (HIE)Ā and theĀ European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), will see the the conference elementĀ return toĀ Eden Court Theatre. The music showcasing will be held in the evening at venues throughout Inverness city centre.
Delegate registration, which is free, is opened nowĀ and organisers are inviting anyone with an interest in pursuing a career in the creative industries to sign up.
The submission window to showcase at this year’sĀ XpoNorthĀ opens Wednesday 25th January and closes on Saturday 1st April.
