Martha Reeves and The Vandellas to play the Ironworks in December.
Fresh from an impressive performance at the Merchant City Festival, Martha accompanied by her sisters Lois and Delphine aka The Vandellas will be returning to the Highlands at Christmas time.
You can indeed pick her accolade wether it’s the queens of classic Mowtown, the ultimate Motown diva or any of the many millions of titles cast upon Martha Reeves, she is without doubt can icon. With hits including ‘Nowhere to Run’, ‘(Love is like a) Heat Wave’ and ‘Dancing in the treet’, her career borne in the sixties, shows no signs of slowing down. Not bad for someone who has just celebrated her seventy-fifth birthday.
“The Motown star has a classic and timeless appeal, and generates a dangerous amount of energy on stage.” notes The Guardian review from a recent live gig. This was certainly echoed at Martha’s gig at Belladrum 2015 which whilst on stage she charmed the audience with her approach and personality.
